Gather is a work-in-progress that started with the idea of land-based dance, focusing on soniyaw niyipsiy (wolf willow) and the growth through the seasons.
In examining the plant and cycles through the seasons showed a parallel with our lives and intergenerationally as well.

Sandra Lamouche is a Nehiyaw Iskwew, an off-reserve member of the Bigstone Cree Nation. She is an award-winning educator, champion hoop dancer, writer, public speaker and choreographer. Her degree is Native American Studies and she is completing a thesis on Indigenous dance and wellbeing.
